Recent Movies - 2008 to 2010

Here are a few non-college, non-48-Hour-Film-Project, non-vacation movies that Joed made. So far there are two Vinyl Blight music videos and their accompanying blooper/outtakes movies, and a trailer for the Big Man Cut Down video. One day Joed might make a non-music video for this section... but he's already thinking he'll shoot another music video late summer 2010...

Vinyl Blight Music Video: Sometimes I Feel

Date: February 2008
Length: 6:00
File: 59.6MB Quicktime H.264 640X480 30fps, AAC 192kbps
Joed's current feeling rating: 9/10 stars

This is a music video I made for Vinyl Blight, aka Nick Colangelo, for his track called Sometimes I Feel, off of his 2007 Future Buried album. While I liked almost all of the tracks on that album, I felt like Sometimes I Feel had the best music video potential. After some delay in coming up with an idea that I was happy with, we finally shot the video in August of 2007. The music video is about a home webcam business apparently run by Vinyl Blight and his three (or four) Fly Honeys. The song is a drum n bass remix of Rockwell's 'Somebody's Watching Me' (and a much, much better remix than the one on the Geico commercials). I put this video up on Youtube as well, so check it out there and vote for it, leave comments etc! It's better viewing quality on here though.

check out the 48 Hour Films, they are recent too!

Sometimes I Feel: Bloopers and Outtakes

Date: May 2008
Length: 6:58
File: 42.2MB Quicktime H.264 640X480 30fps, AAC 128kbps

Yup, the name says it all. This is a short movie consisting of some bloopers and outtakes from Vinyl Blight's music video Sometimes I Feel. This goofiness goes on for much longer than the seven minutes here, but I decided to keep it short and sweet for the general public. Enjoy!

Vinyl Blight Music Video: Big Man Cut Down

Date: November 2009
Length: 8:30
File: 84.8MB Quicktime H.264 640X480 30fps, AAC 192kbps
Joed's current feeling rating: 9.5/10 stars

This is a music video I made for Vinyl Blight, aka Nick Colangelo, for his unreleased track called Big Man Cut Down. It is a remix of 'Gash Dem' by Chuck Fenda (2007). When I first heard Nick play this at Firefly '08, I knew I needed to make a music video for it. I knew how I wanted it to look, but was stumped for a good year trying to think of a decent plot. As the summer started to fade in 2009, I realized we had better get shooting if we didn't want any further delay (winter time + Fly Honeys = frown faced Fly Honeys). The video follows a vigilante and his army of Fly Honeys, as they try to track down the 'Big Man' and bring dancey justice to the streets of Boston, among other nobel goals. The video debuted at Glitchgiving 2009, and was also remixed live by Zebbler and Encanti during their set. Watch it on Vimeo and Youtube as well!

Big Man Cut Down: Bloopers and Outtakes

Date: February 2010
Length: 33:07
File: 221.9MB Quicktime H.264 640X480 30fps, AAC 128kbps

We shot over six hours of footage for Vinyl Blight's six minute track, Big Man Cut Down, so there was a lot of left over goodness. This video of bloopers, outtakes, and behind the scenes comprises 1/12th the footage we shot. See a rooftop scene shot in the pouring rain! See all the leftover tomfoolery!

Big Man Cut Down: Trailer

This is a short promo trailer I made for Vinyl Blight's Big Man Cut Down music video. We wanted to hype Vermin Street's Feb. 16th, 2010 release of the video, so we sent this out to all the hu-mans of Earth.
